DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATIONS
We provide comprehensive assessments for speech, language, fluency, social-pragmatics and feeding for children aged newborn through high-school. As part of a comprehensive assessment, we ask that you fill out the case history form and return it to the office at least 5 days prior to your appointment to ensure consultation with the appropriate team of professionals (pediatricians, gastrointerologits, neurologists, teachers, social workers, etc.). Evaluations include a formal written report, recommendations and design of a treatment plan if warranted.
INDIVIDUAL TREATMENT
Individual treatment sessions range from 30-45 minutes in length and include session note/summary to help track your child’s progress. Although each child has a unique treatment program, typically, they include a combination of:
ο Speech – articulation, apraxia, phonology, voice, prosody and resonation
ο Oral-Motor – reduced tone, drooling
ο Language – Receptive and expressive vocabulary, ability to formulate grammatically appropriate sentences, conversational language skills
ο Feeding – Breast/bottle feeding, tube feeding, advancing foods accepted and expanding overall diet for the picky-eater
ο Cognitive-Linguistic – Attention, memory, auditory processing, metalinguistics and executive functioning
GROUP SESSIONS
Group sessions range from 45-60 minutes and include up to 5 skill-matched peers. Groups are designed to work on utilizing each child’s individual strengths to model and support the development of skills in their peers.
