Attendance Policy

Attendance

Attendance and consistency will only facilitate progress and promote continued learning and success in your child’s treatment program.

Groups are designed around the expectation that your child will be able to learn and develop their skills with peers. Therefore, attendance and punctuality are important for all group participants.

Cancelation/Sick Policy

Except for emergency situations, we kindly request that you provide at least 48 hours notice if  your appointments must be cancelled by calling or emailing the office. We consider the following to be examples of NON EMERGENCY reasons to cancel an appointment: vacations, pre-scheduled doctor appointments, family events, parties, recreational events, after school activities, holiday weekend, school holiday, day before or after a holiday or a schedule conflict.

All appointments that are not cancelled at least 48 hours in advance without scheduling a make-up will be charged a late cancellation fee of 50% of the session fee. This fee is not covered by insurance or other third party payer.

Non-emergency same-day cancellations are considered to be a “missed appointment”.  We reserve the right to charge you for the full scheduled therapy appointment, which was missed. This fee is not covered by insurance or other third party payer.

Make Ups & Rescheduling

We offer Make Up sessions, as they are in the child’s best interest. As above, we require that you provide at least 48 hours advance notice of a NON EMERGENCY cancellation of a scheduled appointment time. We will make our best effort to accommodate a Make Up session for a missed appointment. For all holidays, vacations and NON EMERGENCY cancellations, you will be encouraged to schedule a Make Up session, and we will do our best to accommodate an alternative time.

No Show

If your child does not attend their scheduled appointment, and you have not called to give any type of notification that the session was going to be missed, you will be considered to be a “No Show” for treatment. Additionally, you will be charged for the full scheduled therapy appointment, which was missed. If you have two (2) “No Shows” for scheduled appointments, your child’s therapy will be put on hold, and your child will be added to our waiting list.

Snow Day/Inclement Weather

The safety your family during times of inclement weather are very important to us; therefore we will use our best judgement in deciding if the center will remain open. Please stay tuned to the website, News12CT and call our office (203) 567-4245 for information and updates on closings.
